For some reason, Americans find it very irritating that tech support has been outsourced to India.
Probably because they think that the Indians have stolen their jobs. That's just stupid.
Statements like "You guys stole our jobs" and "we god laid off because of you" are quite commonly heard over a phone call.
There are approximately 2,500 techs working at DELL tech support in India, and double that number working at any tech support facility in the country. And I think I'm being generous here. That's peanuts compared to the job market out there.
These guys just need someone else to blame for their problems.
Real mature.
Another crazy misconception they have just because tech support is outsourced to India, is beautifully played in this conversation most of the techs have, while having to replace certain damaged/defective parts of the system:
"You're gonna send out a tech all the way from India?!?!? No wonder it takes so much time for you guys to get any work done!"
You moron, If you actually think that we make the spare parts here and then ship them over to you guys, you definitely deserve the problem your system is facing. Next you'd probably be saying DELL was sold to India.
